Steve Bingley is the co-founder and head coach of Century Strong, Canberra’s largest high-performance, science-based outdoor fitness provider. A former paratrooper in the Australian Army and a qualified exercise physiologist, Steve has spent over a decade shaping the ACT’s fitness culture through his leadership, innovation, and unwavering belief in human potential.

Steve owns and operates flagship Century Strong locations in Woden and Gungahlin, where he leads from the front—coaching, mentoring, and ensuring each session meets the highest standards of professionalism, precision, and impact. His hands-on leadership style is central to the brand’s reputation as Canberra’s most trusted name in outdoor group fitness.

Steve’s passion for physical training was forged during his seven years of service in the Australian Army, where he deployed overseas in multiple operational roles. Upon transitioning to civilian life, he dedicated himself to coaching and community health, establishing Century Strong in 2010. Since then, he has trained thousands of Canberrans—ranging from first-time participants to elite athletes—through a unique coaching style grounded in discipline, inclusivity, and purpose.

Holding a Master’s in Sport and Exercise Science and a Bachelor’s in Coaching Science from the University of Canberra, Steve’s evidence-based methodology draws from both academic research and practical experience. His consulting work has supported national institutions such as the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), Australian Defence Force (ADF), and Australian Federal Police (AFP), focusing on tactical conditioning, talent identification, and team culture development.

Steve is a recognized expert in high-performance coaching and program design, known for integrating technology, structured volunteer engagement, and scalable systems into outdoor group training. His leadership extends beyond coaching into shaping Canberra’s broader fitness landscape—founding major community fitness events and contributing to the design of ACT Government park fitness stations used by thousands.

Driven by the ethos Infinitus Potentia—Infinite Potential—Steve continues to push personal and professional boundaries. He is a devoted husband and father of three (including twins), and an active competitor in ultra trail runs, obstacle course races, and strongman competitions. Whether leading public health initiatives, mentoring athletes, or training everyday people, Steve’s mission remains the same: to empower individuals and teams to unlock their full potential through strength, structure, and community.
